Teesdale Cheesemakers – our story so far
Register now for Teesdale Cheesemakers – our story so far, taking place on Thursday 2nd July at 7pm. Be inspired by the challenges members Allison and Jonathan Raper have overcome, hear about their successes (and how they celebrated), and find out about their plans for the future.
Allison and Jonathan took the helm of Teesdale Cheesemakers in January 2016 and are proud to use milk from the family farm to make their cheeses award-winning cheeses.
In January 2019 they moved to new premises and opened Cheesedale last November.
Pre-pandemic Cheesedale was a cheese-centric cafe and shop where the menu revolved around the cheese made on the premises. You could take a peek into the dairy and see where the cheese is made, meet their rare breed pigs who are fed on the whey from the cheesemaking and enjoy a great cheese board and cup of coffee in the cafe.
During the current crisis, Allison and Jonathan have worked incredibly hard to adapt, moving their shop outside for greater safety, expanding their stock range, and offering free delivery to their local community
