This is the Rural Business Network update published on 19th April 2021.

Hello, the last 2 weeks have gone very quickly!

On the 8th April, we had the 2020 British Farming Awards Diversification Innovator of the Year winner, Andrew Jones, together with daughter Gemma explain how they have gone from milking cows to running a bespoke glamping business Rakery Retreat.

Members very much appreciated their openness and honesty and feedback has been extremely positive.

Last Thursday Joanne Milne and Richard Marshall from member Hay & Kilner LLP  explained some of the legal issues around farm diversification in our lunch-time event Farm Diversification, understanding the lay of the land.  Joanne and Richard gave a lot of very useful information and are on hand for members for follow-up questions.

Members have access to the recordings of both these events.

This week’s event is open to non-members and is on Thursday 22nd at 12noon.  Durham City Incubator Manager, Leon Howe is running an interactive session ‘Where to start, where to end and how to get there where he will use tools to help you

  1. Generate a new rural business idea
  2. Visualise what you want to achieve in your business
  3. And help you reach your goals

Make sure you register to attend now.

Thank you for listening.  Take care, stay safe and I look forward to seeing you soon.
