Who are we I hear you ask!
Well, I’m Jo Martin the Founder of Rural Business Network and my vision is to create an independent community of support, guiding fellow farmers and rural entrepreneurs like myself, through their business journey.
Why do you want to do that Jo?
Because I couldn’t find the support for my business to grow when I needed it most. I needed someone to understand me and point me in the right direction. I needed to talk to others in a similar situation and I needed to learn how to market my business. I also needed someone who would let me know I was doing okay. Find out more about Jo.
Rural Business Network Members
We have a great mix of farming families who are thinking about diversification and those who are up and running. We also have rural entrepreneurs as well as accountants, solicitors, rural surveyors and marketing professionals as members. Everyone wants everyone to succeed. We are a friendly and supportive community.
Such a friendly community, I have learnt so much from the online speakers and have found all the information really interesting and very useful.Cath, Newland Home Farm
Hay & Kilner supported us via the Crowdfunder campaign we did in September 2020. At that time we were planning a Celebration Event but Covid got in the way. We will be holding the event but as yet have not set a date. In the meantime, the team at Hay & Kilner have delivered some events including Succession Planning, Different Ways to Structure your Business, and Top Tips for Farm Diversification. All events were recorded and are available on-demand for members to watch at a time that suits them.
Hay & Kilner is committed to meeting the different needs of all clients and contacts and has developed high levels of service which they consistently deliver. They have a team of expert solicitors who provide advice to their clients involved in agricultural land and farming or related rural activities. Whether you run a large or small family business, a large company or a landed estate they can give you the expert advice you need. They deliver a quality assured service, focusing on your specific requirements, and are committed to securing the best result for you.
They work closely with your other professional advisers, such as bankers, accountants and land agents, to ensure that you achieve the best solution in the most tax efficient manner.
They have good relationships with many national and regional organisations and recommend that clients in the rural community need their trusted adviser “team” to all work together for the best results to be achieved.
We currently have 3 Associate Members who are on hand to provide advice and collaborate on events.

Their purpose is to make rural life better.
They work with people and organisations who are passionate about the place they live and work. They help to create new ideas and turn them into solutions.
